Tulsi an earthly manifestation of the goddess TULSI or VRINDA; she is regarded as the avatar of Lakshmi and thus the consort of the god Vishnu.

A) What is Tulsi ?
Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum.L. Or Ocimum tenuflotum) a queen of all Indian herbs which belongs to Lamiaceae family.It is commonly known as Holy basil. Tulsi is a short aromatic perennial plant with profuse and scattered branches having small and oval leaves . Tulsi is native to Indian subcontinent. 
Tulsi is having a history in Indian medicine as a treatment for many diseases like fever, cold& cough, headache, depression and many more.
Tulsi have high nutritive values as it contains calcium, zinc, iron, vitamin A&C etc.

D) Intake procedures
Tulsi can be in different preparatory forms like:-
Swarasa (juice)
Kwath(decoction)
Kwath method can be used to make Tulsi tea.
Kalka( paste)

SWARASA :-
1) Take some fresh leaves and wash them      with water properly.

2) Put these clean leaves over silbatta              (grindstones) and add some drops of water    and make a fine paste.

3) Take a clean cotton cloth.

4) Place the paste of tulsi in the cotton cloth    and squeeze it carefully.

5) Collect the squeezed liquid in a glass.

6) Tulsi swarasa is ready.


KWATH:-
Ingredients:- 5-6 Tulsi leaves
                       1/2 inch a piece of sunthi
                       3-4 seeds of Krishna marich
                       Small piece of dalchini 
                       1 cup of water 
Only 1/2 cup of kwath should be made at a time.
Procedure-
1) Take a pan and add a cup of water and put  it over the gas.

2) When water become luke warm then add    the aboves ingredients ( Tulsi leaves, sunthi,    Krishna  marich, dalchini).

3) Boil the whole mixture until the amount of  water is reduce to half.

4) Switch off the gas and leave the mixture for some time to cool down.

5) Sieve it into a glass.

6) A tea like drink is ready to use.
E) Doses
        Swarasa --> 5-10 ml
        Kwath. --> 1/2 cup

F) Indications
Swarasa -- Depression, arthritis, leprosy, worm infestation, fever, cold & cough, digestive disorders, mouth infection.
Swarasa is taken with honey

Kwath -- COVID-19, Fever, cold & cough, fatique, boosts Immunity, Headache.

Paste -- wound healing, skin infections.

Tulsi is also available in capsules, tincture, powder, herbal tea and many other forms.

3) Hypothyroidism
4) Diabetes

H)  Side effects  
1) Nausea

  1. The word tulsi in itself defines its significance and importance of this valuable herb and this is the only reason tht tulsi is treated as mother goddess of herbs in indian mythology
